Dubai Globe Soccer Awards – special edition, highlighting 2020’s top talent honouring legendary players, clubs and agents from the past 20 years.
For the first time, 4 of the awards considered the performance by the nominees between 2001 and 2020 in a unique series that celebrated the Best of the Century.
The Dubai Globe Soccer Awards special edition event was held in partnership with Dubai Sports Council on Sunday 27th of December 2020 in the exclusive Armani hotel, located in the Iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower against the backdrop of Dubai.
Main categories presented were :
- Player of the Year : Robert Lewandowski
- Club of the Year : Bayern Munich
- Coach of the Year : Hans-Dieter Flick
- Player of the Century 2001-2020 : Christiano Ronaldo
- Club of the Century 2001-2020 : Real Madrid
- Coach of the Century 2001-2020 : Joseph Pep Guardiola
- Agent of the Century 2001-2020 : ‘Super Agent’ Jorge Mendes
- Player Career Award : Gerard Pique and Iker Casillas
- Top Title Winners in the Middle East : Al Ahly, Egypt
A video tribute was also paid to two legends of football who passed away recently, Argentina’s 1986 World Cup hero Diego Maradona and Paolo Rossi, whose six goals helped Italy win the 1982 World Cup in Spain.
The event was broadcast live via satellite and live streaming all over the world.
