The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP) Mostafa Terrab received the Insignia of Officer of the Legion of Honor of France in Rabat.
Terrab has been OCP’s chairman and CEO since 2006 and president of the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) since June 2019.
Egypt re-elected as vice chair of UN Habitat Executive Board.
Executive Board of the UN Habitat held its first meeting during which Egypt was re-elected as vice chair of the Executive Board of the UN Habitat for the African Group over the period from 2021-2022.
Egypt’s Permanent Delegation to UN Habitat Ambassador Khaled el Abyad voiced happiness over the re-election of Egypt, expressing his appreciation for the sisterly African states over their confidence in Egypt and its ability to enhance the African interests and defend them.
Sarah Al-Suhaimi has been appointed to the board of directors at Saudia airline as a representative of the private sector, following approval from the Kingdom’s Council of Ministers.
Al-Suhaimi is also the chairwoman for the board of directors at the Saudi Arabian Stock Exchange (Tadawul), the largest stock market in the Middle East. In 2017, she became the first Saudi woman to hold that position.
Three years before Tadawul, Al-Suhaimi was the CEO and a board director at the National Commercial Bank, also known as Al-Ahli Bank.
Al-Suhaimi served as the vice chairperson of the advisory committee to the board of the Capital Market Authority between 2013 and 2015.
She worked as the chief investment officer at Jadwa Investment, where she led the asset management and wealth management business lines and was also a member of its management committee between 2007 and 2014.
Al-Suhaimi started her career within asset management at Samba Capital. She is a trustee of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation and a We-Fi Leadership Champion.
Energy Intelligence announced that Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Managing Director & Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has been named as Energy Intelligence’s Energy Executive of the Year for 2021.
The award recognises Dr. Al Jaber’s role in mapping a path of modernisation for national oil companies. Dr. Al Jaber was elected by the leaders of the world’s top energy companies and is the 25th winner of this distinguished honor. The award will be presented to Dr. Al Jaber at the Energy Intelligence Forum 2021 conference held October 4-7.
“Dr. Al Jaber has distinguished himself as an innovator at a time of great change,” said Raja Sidawi, Chairman and Chief Executive of Energy Intelligence. “He has reimagined ADNOC’s operations, its strategy and its culture.”
The US Department of State will recognize April as ‘National Arab American Heritage Month’ in honour of the more than 3.5 million people of Arab ancestry living in the country.
